This is an original oil painting, painted on wood. This one depicts a sweet scene of a highland cow and a sheep. These two have their home in a field next to the old ruin of Castle Roy in the Highlands of Scotland, which is why I deemed them the Guardians of Castle Roy
 
These original paintings on wood are snapshots of scenery I've spotted during my time in Scotland. What started as a way to give new life to some branches that fell in my parents' garden has turned into a hugely popular series of wooden paintings, wall hangings and ornaments. I love that my wooden paintings now live in so many homes across the UK!
 
I treat the wood with a preservative to avoid cracking and paint with oils onto a base of primer before varnishing the painting in a matt finish to let your painting live a long, happy life in your home :)
